Have you ever wondered what your dentist looks for and sees during your dental exam? At Exceptional Dentistry, Dr. James Powell wants you to be involved in your oral health. To do that, we use the SOPROLIFE intraoral camera in Palmdale, California. An intraoral camera allows our dentist to take a closer look at the inside of your mouth and locate decay before it has a chance to destroy the tooth surface — in other words, early cavity detection!

Plus, the images taken by the intraoral camera appear on our computer screen, so you can see exactly what our dentist sees! By seeing your teeth up close, you will be able to be proactive in your health. Being proactive is important because it saves you time and money and, perhaps most importantly, keeps you out of pain. (Psst! If you’re ready to board the proactive dental health train contact us today at (661) 349-7725 to schedule your visit!)

Intraoral cameras are small, pen-like tools. Our dentist uses it to get a closer, more detailed look at the inside of your mouth. While many dental tools create a loud, uncomfortable sound, our intraoral camera is not a tool to fear. There is no pain, no discomfort and no loud noises when using an intraoral camera. One of our exceptional team members will simply hover the tip of the camera around the inside of your mouth, taking images that are projected onto a nearby computer screen.

SOPROLIFE Early Cavity Detection Camera

There are many different types of intraoral cameras, but at Exceptional Dentistry, we are pleased to use the advanced SOPROLIFE intraoral camera. This specific camera enables our dentist to locate, identify and treat dental issues early on, ultimately helping you avoid severe dental damage and costly treatments. However, SOPROLIFE goes above and beyond just taking detailed images of the inside of your mouth. It also provides the following features:

  • Daylight mode that captures high-definition, magnified images of your mouth while emitting white LED light. This means that our dentist can capture accurate and detailed images under any light source.
  • Diagnosis and Treatment modes that use two different types of fluorescent lights to illuminate each individual tooth. Healthy enamel and dentition bounce green color back to our dentist while cavities and demineralized (pre-cavity) areas absorb the light and appear orange or red.

With three different modes available, the SOPROLIFE intraoral camera enables our dentist to clearly see the inside of your teeth and accurately locate and diagnose the early formation of cavities. With early detection, we can target weaker areas of your teeth and provide necessary treatment to prevent cavities from even forming. How cool is that?!

At our practice, we are committed to utilizing the latest dental technology that will provide our patients with a more comfortable, efficient and enjoyable experience. With the SOPROLIFE intraoral camera, we can do just that. To learn more about early cavity detection and being proactive in your health, we invite you to contact us today. We look forward to caring for you and your smile!
